I earned my degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh in 1991 with emphasis in pediatrics.   I have worked in pediatrics in diverse settings.  I have devoted my practice to Early Intervention exclusively since 2003.

My devotion and dedication to children has been enhanced by my continuing education in techniques that will further their development.  I am certified to administer the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test.  I have attended numerous courses in feeding, sensory integration, visual impairment, infant massage, neuro-development techniques, lymphatic drainage, and cultural competency to name a few.

During my career I have encountered loving children and their parents from all walks of life with both familiar and rare disorders.  I proudly claim that I do not “treat” the diagnoses but rather I assist the child and family using all of my resources.  Some of the diagnoses that restrict a child without intervention include: pediatric stroke, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, cleft lip and/or palate, other genetic disorders, eating problems, Dwarfism, arthrogryposis, torticollis, autism, autistic spectrum disorder, hypotonia, failure to thrive, spina bifida, etc; as well as conditions unique to the Amish and Old Order Mennonite communities.

I am a native of Somerset County, Pennsylvania and I have been an independent provider of pediatric occupational therapy in both Somerset and Bedford Counties since 1995.   I currently live in Somerset, Pennsylvania with my husband.  I am the proud mother of three adult children and currently have two munchkins that call me Grandma!  I am an active Christian; serving in my church – Somerset First Christian Church, participating in mission trips both domestically and internationally, as well as ministering to women in our local jail.
